Later this summer, a team from The Devon Clinic will be lacing up their walking boots and tackling one of the UK’s most iconic endurance challenges—the Yorkshire Three Peaks. Covering 24 miles in under 12 hours, the route takes in the summits of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough, the three highest peaks in the Yorkshire Dales.
It’s part of our “24 in 25” fundraising campaign, where supporters are taking on 24-mile challenges throughout the year to raise vital funds for trauma recovery work. For our team, this event isn’t just about personal achievement—every step will help us provide counselling, psychotherapy, massage, and support for people living with trauma, anxiety, and distress.
They’ll be heading up the day before, with the walk starting early the next morning. A support vehicle will be on hand for emergencies, snacks, and general encouragement, but we’re still looking for at least one and preferably two volunteer drivers to help us on the day. If you know someone who’s happy to take in the scenery (without climbing the hills!), we’d love to hear from you.
This challenge is just one of many ways they’re working to raise awareness and funds to keep our services accessible. The need has never been greater, and thanks to everyone supporting the efforts—whether by donating, fundraising, or cheering from the sidelines—we can continue helping people get the support they deserve.
